oh my god what a cute little basket, i need one.

seriously - every time i go to any type of department store (ross is the worse, i dunno even) like i JIZZ IN MY PANTS at all of the miscellaneous kitchen appliances/pretty things that are virtually fucking useless that i ALWAYS must have. especially if they come in colors. like i have not-quite-rainbow different colored sets of plates, mixing bowls, measuring cups, all in different sizes and shit and they’re my favorite things in the world. last week i bought a pitcher with a spicket thing because i wanted one. and last time i was in target they had these new sets of like “from oven to table” types of dishes you could bake on and then serve, like really thick ceramic and they were all different shapes/sizes and there was also a wooden set and i sat there almost in tears because i was too poor to afford any of them.

COOL STORY.

FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE omg this was so good. at first i was like lol flourless its going to be gross.

but it was so moist and delicious!!!

it cooked really funny because the cake actually peeled from the edges of the pan and it had BUBBLED UP and we thought we messed it up (myself and the boy i was working with on them) but nope, they flattened back down as they cooled into those delicious chocolate layers you see.

they’re filled with a DELICIOUS coconut milk buttercream that i whipped together in class (literally.) i had my doubts because we wanted the flavor of the coconut milk but because coconut milk is water-based and butter is an oil-base, i was very terrified it wouldn’t emulsify and it would be weird and nasty but i got it to work WONDERFULLY!

and drizzled on the plate is a delicious coconut creme anglaise that we made together to pair with the frosting.

seriously, heaven.
